The 70 year old breeder Thierry Degraeve, who bred one of worlds famous stallions, 'Cornet Obolensky, has decided to retire. The breeder announced his retirement during the Elite Auction last weekend in Belgium's Azelhof.

During the auction the breeder said publicly goodbye to his business. He also sold his last breeding mare, Kornette D'Heybroght, a daughter of Cornet Obolensky x Cassini I. The mare had a foal earlier this year from For Pleasure and is currently expecting a foal by Diamant de Semilly. The mare was sold for 42.000 euros.

Besides Cornet Obolensky he was also the breeder of Vivaldi van het Costersveld, who jumped with Roger Yves Bost at the highest level. The breeder once started in breeding racehorses and then made the chance to showjumpers. Cornet Obolensky jumped at a level of 1m60 with Germany's Marco Kutscher.
