Russia wins the team gold medal for Children at the Y-J-Ch Championship 2016 at Oliva Nova
Friday afternoon the second part of the Childrens category was competed and the medals were decided. Russia won the gold medal with a strong team. Their best rider was Anna Guseynova riding LAUDA with an average score of 73,100%. She also was the first of the class. Ekaterina Aristova finished on third place with a score of 70.800%.

The French team was fighting until the last moment for the gold, but finally they took the silver medal. Jade Leborgne riding DON CALYPSO was the strongest rider in the team she finished with an average score of 70,555% in fourth place.

Spain won the bronze medal. Their best combination was Ainhoa Vera and MOSQUETERO VII (69,70% and seventh place) a Pure Breed Spanish horse, owned by San Antonio studfarm.

Young Riders
This morning, the first part of the Young Riders Individual and Individual Juniors tests was competed at the European Y-J-C Championship 2016. For the moment, the highest score in Young Riders is held by German rider Anna-Christina Abbelen riding the Rheinlander FUERST ON TOUR (Furst Heinrich x Rubina), with an average score of 72.342%. She had some trouble in the first pirouette to the right and the half pass to the left in canter. However, the flying changes were beautiful and so was the rest of the test.

Second places is currently being held by the Dutch combination, Jeanine Nekeman with the KWPN horse VLINGH (Flemmingh x Krista) with a score of 71.974%. Her highlights in the test were the flying changes every 4 strides and the extended canter for which she earned 8`s. The rein back was a little bit lower in quality.

Third position is currently held by Belgian rider Charlotte Defalque with the KWPN horse BOTTICELLI (Vivaldi x Valinja) with an average score of 71.921%. A very good fault free test, with a better trot tour than canter, though.

In Juniors, Dutch rider Lisanne Zoutendijk riding the Rheinlander KOSTENDRUKKERS RINGO STAR 8 (RICCIONE x RUSTIKA) earned again the highest average score at this level today, achieving 74.684%, improving her marks from Wednesday. Their highlights were above all in the canter part of their performance with many marks of 7.5 and 8.
At the moment, second place is being defended by another Dutch rider Esmee Donkers, riding the KWPN ZAFFIER (Painted Black x Rocco- Tosha) with an average score of 73.711%. Their highlights today were the extended trot and the flying changes. Again, the walk was a little bit poor.

Third position is currently held by German rider Rebecca Horstmann with the Oldenburg FRIEND OF MINE 2 (For Compliment x Riverside). Their score was 72.526%, which is also an improvement on the team test. Their overall exercises were at top level and fault free this time, without mistakes in the flying changes, they’re were very good this time (7-8).
