Darragh Kenny Wins €25,000 Dura Vermeer Prijs Grand Prix Qualifier at CHIO Rotterdam
Yesterday evening the day in Totterdam concluded with the CSI5* Grand Prix qualifier. It was Ireland's Darragh Kenny who jumped to victory.

Kenny piloted the 10-year-old, Belgian Warmblood gelding Global Van T Braunerthof  (Vigo d’Arsouilles x Landetto) to 1st place in the €25,000 Dura Vermeer Prijs, coming out on top of a 62-horse start list.

The Irish rider slotted in a time of 62.57 seconds in a class that saw just 15 clear rounds, making it a relatively small number of successful trips for such a large entry list.

Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat came 2nd aboard his World Cup Finals winning partner Corbinian, with a time of 62.81 seconds. Maikel Van Der Vleuten of The Netherlands went last in the order and really turned on the gas for the home crowd, but although he made it over the track clear aboard VDL Groep Arera C, he had to settle for 3rd place in 63.47 seconds. Luciana Diniz of Portugal was 4th with Lennox, and Daniel Deusser of Germany was 5th aboard Equita van T Zorgvliet.

Most riders were preparing themselves for Friday’s Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup, which will serve as one of the final, and most crucial observations in the lead up to the Rio Olympic Games. The Nations Cup begins at 3:00pm local time and can be viewed live on FEItv.com.
