Almost Olympic podium in CSI5* Grand Prix in Lummen
At the beautiful fields of the Postelmans family in Lummen, the highlight of a busy international weekend has just ended: the CSI5* Grand Prix. With 48 starting combinations, it promised to be a very exciting competition.

Eventually five combinations jumped a clear first round: Bernard Briand Olivier, Emilio Bicocchi, Steve Guerdat, Peder Fredricson and Manuel Ferandez Saro. Chevalier was the first rider to enter the show ring with Quadillac du Heup (f. Helios de la Cour II). He immediately went fast as lightening, but this unfortunately resulted in two penalties for jumping. Eventually this French combination on a fifth place with a time of 49,99 seconds.

The Italian rider Emilio Biccochi knew what he had to do: jump a faster, clear round than Chevalier. Unfortunately he and Sassicaia Ares (f. Ephebe for Ever) got one penalty for jumping as well. He and the 11-year old gelding ended on third place.

The victory went to Steve Guerdat. The Olympic champion of Londen went fast as lightening with his new horse Hannah (f. Dulf vd Bisschop). No other combination managed to ride a faster time. The second place went to the Olympic Silver medalist of this year: Peder Fredricson. He and H&M Christian K (f. Namelus R) kept the wood untouched and finished in 49,67 seconds.

The Spanish rider Manuel Fernandez completed the top five. He and the SBS gelding U Watch (f. President) ended on fourth place. They got one penalty for jumping and finished in 50,63 seconds.
