Also in China the show jumping combinations battled it out on an international level. In the 1.50m Grand Prix in Dalia Belgium’s Constant VAn Paesschen jumped to victory on the Zangersheide bred Cognac du Vlist Z (by Calvino Z). Van Paesschen was one of the two clear jump-off rounds.
In the past the Dutch Cognac du Vlist Z was competed by Leon Thijssen on an international level.
Only two clear rounds were ridden in the jump-off, both by European riders. Ulrich Kirchhof followed as runner-up with La Gomera. Van Paesschen crossed the finish in 48.20 seconds while Kirchhof stopped the clock in 48.69 seconds.
A platoon of Asia riders followed lead by China’s Yong Zhang. Together with Cassini Boy Junior (Cassini II x Caretino) Zhang placed third with one jumping fault.
Hong Kong’s finest, Kenneth Chang followed in fourth with the KWPN-horse, Bon Ami (Numero Uno x Wolfgang). The top five was completed by Jirigala Erdeng with Brikibo van de Bosbeek (by Concorde).
