Only two of those 19 combinations managed to jump a clear first round: the British Leonora Smee and the American Lilli Hymowitz. A jump-off between these two lady riders therefore had to decide about the winner.
Eventually it was the British Leonora Smee who took the victory. She and her Waltons Top Flight (F. Oklund), a 14-year old KWPN gelding, jumped to the first place. This combination left the wood untouched and finished in 33,03 seconds. With this she closely beat Hymowitz who jumped a clear jump-off as well with her KWPN gelding Verdi III (f. Hors la Loi II). In the end her time of 33,58 seconds wasn't enough to take the first place.
The third place went to the Italian rider Aldo Intagliata. He and his Kleons Cayenne (f. Cornet Obolenksy) left the wood untouched in the first round, but got one penalty for time. This resulted in the third place on the podium.
The top five was completed by Zayd Kuzbar and Vedet de Muze ET (f. Cartani 4) and Chloe Hymowitz and Cylana (f. Skippy II). Both combinations jumped a very fast first round, meaning they could still conquer a top five spot. They finished in respectively 71,65 and 72,60 seconds.
