In Italy’s Toscana Tour it’s the Irish that celebrate victory today on St. Patrick’s Day. While their home country is celebrating this national holiday, the Irish riders in Italy made sure that they deserve to celebrate later today.
The win went to Emilio Bicocchi and his Contendro son Call Me, with whom he finished in 59.57 seconds. He stayed ahead of Michel del Signore and his Zingara (by Indoctro) who finished in second place in 60.57 seconds. In third place it was then Dutch rider Lisa Nooren who kept the Irish from a complete top five. She and her Dutch bred Cardento daughter Bardesther stopped the chromo at a time of 61.15 seconds.
The top five was completed by Giulia Martinengo Marquet and Fine Edition in 63.07 seconds in fourth place, while Luigi Polesello ended in fifth place with his Belgian bred Farao van t Fennehof (by Triomphe de Muze).
Only the top fifteen qualified for the Grand Prix YR class.
