Italy takes a legendary win in Rome's Nations Cup
For the first time in 32 years Italy takes the FEI Nations Cup victory on home soil in Rome. With a total of nine penalties Italy claimed the win from the Netherlands.

Alberto Zorzi and the 12-year-old Belgian bred, Fair Light van 't Heike (by Vigo d'Arsouilles) jumped twice clear, eventually deciding the win.

Zorzi was supported by his fellow team mates, Piergiorgio Bucci, Lorenzo de Luca and Burno Chimirri.

ZBucci and Casallo Z (by Casall) jumped one rail down in the first round, but limited the damage with a clear second round. Lorenzo de Luca and Ensor de Litrange (by Nabab de Reve) jumped together a total of five points whil Burno Chimirri twice noted the erased result aboard Tower Mouche (by Diamant de Semilly).

The Dutch show jumping team followed as runner-up in this Nations Cup class. Olympic pair, Jeroen Dubbeldam and Sfn Zenith N.O.P. (by Rash) had an off-day, retiring in the second round. Marc Houtzager (Sterrehof's Calimero), Gerco SChröder (Glock's Cognac Champblanc) and Jur Vrieling (VDL Glasgow vh Merelsnest) jumped together a total of 13 points.

In ex Aequo the Irish and Spanish show jumping team followed as third with 17 points.
