Trapp O’Neal, Gianna Aycock and Chenoa McElvain – all native New Mexicans – delivered a 1, 2, 3 finish at the Santa Fe Summer Series $30,000 City of Santa Fe Grand Prix, Sunday, August 6. The mayor and mayor pro tem were both in attendance for this headline event and expressed enthusiastic recognition for HIPICO Santa Fe’s contributions to the Santa Fe community.

Santa Fe’s Mayor Javier Gonzales stated, “What a wonderful event! The Santa Fe Summer Series showcases Santa Fe and New Mexican hospitality at its best and we’re very happy to support and encourage HIPICO’s growth.” Signe Lindellmayor pro tem, told us, “We are just so excited to experience this wonderful event and to be part of the future growth of HIPICO Santa Fe as a venue for all types of family entertainment for our community going forward. ” Randy Randall, Executive Director of Tourism Santa Fe, also expressed his support for the vision for HIPICO Santa Fe and its impact for The City Different. “HIPICO’s Santa Fe’s Summer Series is such a beautiful and exciting event. Tourism Santa Fe is committed to the development of HIPICO Santa Fe as a premier destination for visitors coming to Santa Fe for a unique experience. The quality of this horse show and the hospitality are first rate.”

Trapp O’Neal and the talented Capitano, owned by TKO Partnership, started and finished Fiesta Week with big wins. First, in the Welcome Stake on Friday, with a time of 44.119 and then winning again the $30,000 City of Santa Fe Grand Prix. “It’s very exciting because I was born in Luna, New Mexico. It’s wonderful to come back to my home state and be a part of this great horse show,” shared Trapp.

 

The $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, sponsored by Sandia Farm  was held on Friday, August 4th. Jenni McAllister showed that her skills extend beyond the jumper arena- where she triumphed last week – on her own mount, Charly Obolienski. The pair took the win in what Jenni called, “my first ever real International Hunter Derby.
