Scott Brash crowns himself the winner of Doha's Grand Prix
The whole week, Doha is been the center of equestrian sport in the Middle-East. The highlight of today was the 5-star Grand Prix that has just ended. 41 combinations had to jump two difficult rounds. The riders who managed to keep the zero on the scoreboard after those two round, came back for the all-deciding jump-off.

Eventually four riders managed to jump two clear rounds: Scott Brash, Omer Karaevli, Pilar Lucrecia Cordon and Christian Ahlmann. Brash was the first rider to enter the ring for the jump-off and the immediately put some extra pressure on the other riders. With Ursula XII (f. Ahorn) under the saddle, he jumped a clear round in 45,21 seconds. This was also the winning time. The Turkish rider Omer Karaevli tried to beat Brash with his 12-year old gelding Roso au Crosnier (f. Looping d'Elle), but in the end he was too slow with his time of 45,98 seconds. He ended on second place. The fastest time was that one from Pilar Lucrecia Cordon. He and het Galihne La Cour Zichelhof (f. Major de la Cour) crossed the finish line after 44,46 seconds, but a jumping penalty resulted in a third place.

Christian Ahlmann was faster than Brash as well, but his 17-year old Taloubet Z (f. Galoubet Z) hit one fence. The German rider and his stallion ended on fourth place. Niels Bruynseels ended on fifth place. He jumped two clear rounds with his Gancia de Muze (f. Malito de Reve) but got one timepenalty in the first round.
