Spanish Alvares Moya claims top notch Rolex Grand Prix in Wellington
Sergio Alvarez Moya won last nights ultimate Grand Prix in Welligton during the 11th week of the Winter Equestrian Festival. In the Rolex Grand Prix over 1.60m over the Spanish rider was faster than a Japanese rider and three Americans.

Only five combinations managed to remain clear over the tough course set in the Grand Prix to return in a final decisive round. There it was Moya those with Charmeur (by Numero Uno), which put down the mega fast time of 37.76 seconds. Only McLain Ward and the great jumping Rothchild (by Artos)closed in on the Spaniard. With SBS gelding he was on the hunt a bit of the prize pool that contained $ 500,000 and finished second in 38.30 seconds.

Japanese Kate Polle tok With Wings S (v. Larino) to a very fine third place. The pair could not match the two guys at the top with her ride in 39.54 seconds aand to make things worse she colected four penalty points for a jumping fault along the way. But it was enough to stay ahead of USA's Laura Kraut and Beezie Madden. Which also saw a pole come down, but crossed the finish line later then the Japenese rider.
