Thrilling win for Swedish show jumping team in Rotterdam's FEI Nations Cup
Last year the home took home the 'spoils' winning the FEI Nations Cup series in Rotterdam. This year it was a bit of a disappointment for the home team finishing fifth. Despite Harrie Smolder's double clear on Don VHP Z (Diamant de Semilly).

In a thrilling final it was Sweden who claimed victory in this Division I series Nations Cup. Henrik Ankarcrona (the Swedish teamchef) explained the team had high expectations for today. "We went for the win. That was the plan from the beginning and I'm happy we could deliver!".

In the first round no less than four of the eight teams made a zero penalty score. Switzerland and Sweden did not even send their anchor riders, Martin Fuchs and Peder Fredericson in the ring. In the second round more faults were made around the 1.60m high track.

As Henrik von Eckermann kept it clear with his 15-year-old Belgian Warmblood Cantinero (by Cento) the team jumped to victory with a total of four points. Rolf-Goran Bengtsson (Clarimo Ask) and Peder Fredericson (H&M All In) kept it clear while Douglas Lindelow and Zacramento (by Cardento) jumped one rail down.

The Swiss team settled for runner-up with a total of 8 points. Switzerland was represented by Steve Guerdat (Bianca), Romain Duguet (Tentytwo Des Biches), Werner Muff (Daimler) and Martin Fuchs (Clooney 51).

Italy and Spain shared the third place in this Nations cup leg.
