Ward McLain stays ahead of the World Cup finals in Omaha
The public favorit, Ward Mclain is on his way to win the 2016 World Cup finals in Omaha. McLain's superstition seems to work.  “I have a lot of superstitions. I always put my left boot on first. I use a new safety pin on my tie every time I compete in a big class and throw it away;I figure it is out of luck if it is good or bad luck if it’s bad.”

Aboard his 11-years-old Belgian bred sBs-horse, HH Azur (by Thunder vd Zuuthoeve) McLain claimed the win in 36.87 seconds.

Vice European Champion, Belgium's Gregory Wathelet followed as runner-up with the 12-years-old Belgian Warmblood Forlap (by Querlybet Hero). The pair crossed the finish in 39.39 seconds, placing second.

Swiss Romain Duguet followed in a third spot with Twentytwo des Biches (by Mylord Carthago). Duguet crossed the finish in 40.46 seconds, staying ahead of his compatriot Martin Fuchs with Clooney (by Cornet Obolensky).

The top five was completed by Marcus Ehning with Pret A Tout (by Hiram Chambertin) in fifth.
