World Cup of La Coruna gets unexpected Colombian winner
In the Spanish La Coruna, the World Cup has just been ridden. This competition got a pretty unexpected winner. In a jump-off with seven combinations, it became very clear that every riders really wanted to win. Especially Gerardo Menendez Mieres (Cassino DC) and Sergio Alvarez Moya (Cassino DC) wanted to win in front of their home crowd. Eventually they ended on sixth and seventh place.

The victory went to the Colombian rider Carlos Enrique Lopez Lizarzo. He and the 11-year old gelding Admara 2 (f. Padinus) jumped a clear round in 37,84 seconds. With this time, he beat the Swiss Jane Richard Philips who ended on second place with Pablo de Virton (f. Andiamo). They left the wood untouched and finished in 38,21 seconds. Ludger Beerbaum and the Holsteiner Casello (f. Casall) took account of the third place. They jumped a clear jump-off as well and finished in 38,85 seconds.

Hendrik von Eckerman ended on fourth place. The Swedish rider rode Mary lou 194 (f. Montendro) in 39,81 seconds to the finish line. Maikel van der Vleuten rode the second best tome with VDL Groep Arera C (f. Indoctro) but a jumping penalty resulted in a fifth place.
