Armstrong vd Kapel leaves Olivier Philippaerts for Qatar

Ludo Philippaerts and Belgium's Jan Vermeiren have sold their 11-year-old KWPN-sire, Armstrong vd Kapel (by Quasimodo Z). Since the beginning of 2014 it was Ludo's son, Olivier, who competed the stallion that was produced by Jan Vermeiren.

Both Ludo and Jan owned 50% of the horse.  In the summer of 2015 Olivier Philippaerts and Armstrong competed up to the CSI5* Grand Prix level. The pair won the 1.50m in Treffen and represented Belgium at the Furusiyya Nations Cup finals in Barcelona.

The Belgium team returned home with the gold medal. During the Nations Cup in their home country, Belgium (Lummen), the combination finished third.

In the future the stallion will represent Qatar. It is yet unknown if Armstrong will represent Qatar at the Olympics in Rio...
