Gregory Wathelet temporarily out after fall at MET

The Belgian show jumper Gregory Wathelet will be out of the competition action for a few weeks after a rather serious fall at the MET in Oliva.

The rider wrote on Instagram:

"Yesterday, during a class at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour, I took a rather bad fall. We thought it was a broken collar bone at first, but a specialized surgeon in Madrid informed me that the ligaments in my shoulder are torn. After the scheduled surgery, I will need to rest and recover for the next two or three weeks. That's why I won't be able to compete for the next few weeks, and so I will not be starting in CSI5*-W Bordeaux next week or the second part of the Winter Tour of the Sunshine Tour as was originally planned. Thank you all for your support!"
