Lameness means end of Seymour's Olympic dream

Lameness means end of Seymour's Olympic dream

South African dressage rider Tanya Seymour will unfortunately not be able to compete at the Olympic Games. Her gelding Ramoneur (by Rohdiamant x Alabaster) has laminitis.

The Games would be the gelding's last. He would shine one more time and then enjoy his retirement. The 19-year-old gelding had arrived in Tokyo in good health, but after a few days he suffered from a painful hoof. The vet and farrier came on the spot and established that he was laminitic.

The rider told Eurodressage that she regrets not being able to compete but looks back on the beautiful twelve years they had together. "It is unnecessary to talk about devastating news. We acted quickly and I will have to withdraw him from the Olympics, which immediately means that I will not ride either," she said.
