Epaillard puts icing on the cake in Lyon World Cup

Equita Lyon reached its peak during the 5* Longines FEI Jumping World Cup, where a strong field of participants competed against each other in a technical course over 1.60m height. Absolute strongman Julien Epaillard could not be knocked off his throne, and won the test with force majeure.

Epaillard set up a brilliant clear round, and Caracole de la Roque (Zandor Z) also left the wood untouched in the jump-off. With an unbeatable time of 34.88 seconds, the duo again rushed to the win, and can leave Lyon with a more than satisfied feeling. The Brazilian Marlon Modolo Zanotelli managed to stop the clock at 35.61 seconds, which earned him and the KWPN gelding VDL Edgar M (Arezzo VDL) the silver. The bronze medal then went to Jur Vrieling in the saddle of Long John Silver (Lasino), who also finished the jump-off just under 38 seconds.

Penelope Leprevost rode to fourth place on home soil, by jumping to the last clear time on the back of Bingo del Tondou (Vigo D'Arsouilles Stx). The Dane Andreas Schou set the fastest time with four penalty points and finished fifth with Darc de Lux (Darco).
