The 1,60m-high Hickstead CSI4* Derby set a real challenge for the riders; only three made it to the jump-off.
It was Irelands Michael Pender who finished first in 101,77 flawless seconds with Hearton du Bois Halleux, a son of Nonstop. They were the only pair to go clear in the jump-off. Britains Harriet Nuttall was almost 5 seconds faster with A Touch Imperious (Touchdown), but four penalties sent them to the second spot.
The Irish rider Shane Breen and Golden Hawk (Vigo d'Arsouilles) took the third place in a lightning fast 80,46 seconds with eight penalties in the jump-off.
William Funnell and Billy Buckingham (Billy Congo) finished fourth for Great Britain, Graham Gillespie sent Andretti (Acodetto) to the fifth position.
