Madrid in Motion closes in on GCL leaders with win in Valkenswaard


In a battle this afternoon it was the team from Madrid in Motion who took the maximum amount of points in the Global Champion League from Valkenswaard.

After the first round it were the Antwerp diamonds (Audrey Coulter & Jos Verlooy) and the full Dutch team Monaco Aces  (Maikel van der Vleuten & Leopold van Asten)on pole position with both zero penalties.

But Madrid in Motion, consisting of Alberto Zorzo and Pedro Veniss, was keeping the preasure on with just one penalty point. When both riders produced a clear the second time round they overtook Antwerp Diamonds after a Coulter's Alex had a pole down.

When Leopold van Asten entered the ring with VDL Groep Beauty he could take home the win for his team with a clear. However an unlucky pole down made them drop to third place.

Having Antwerp Diamonds taking the second place because a faster combined time and Madrid in Motion claiming the victory with one penalty.
Padro Vennis storming to the win to help claim the team’s second gold medal of the year was very pleased indeed, “I will go [to Rio] tomorrow. It’s a very good feeling to win just before I go - it’s going to be two very important weeks but I think we have a good team in Brazil so I hope to do well.”

Just as teammate Alberto Zorzi who was riding a 'home'  competition riding for Stal Tops: "This is the first time with my new team - I rode Danique and today she jumped very good. My friend Pedro jumped amazing and we won!"
