Belgiums Thibeau Spits wins CSI2* Grand Prix of Valencia

A busy CSI2* week has just ended in Valencia with the highlight of the weekend: the Grand Prix. 63 riders entered the arena for this class, twelve of them managed to jump a clear first round and came back for the jump-off. The time of the basic round seemed to be the biggest problem for most riders, a lot of riders came home with one or even more time penalties, keeping them out of the jump-off.

In the end the victory went to Thibeau Spits. This young Belgian rider rode Classic Touch DH (f. Casall) to the finish line in 38,70 seconds, leaving the wood untouched. Christian Fioravanti and Birdy de La Lande (f. Norway de La Lande) ended on second place. They jumped a clear round as well and finished in 41,52 seconds. Only the top two kept the zero on the score board in the jump-off. Mariano Martinez Bastida and Belano vd Wijnhoeve Z (f. Berlin) jumped the fastest round, but they got one penalty for jumping, resulting in a third place for this Spanish combination.

Nicolas Deseuzes and STella de Preuilly ended on fourth place. Jesus Germendia Echevarria and Clarin de Llamosas followed on fifth place.

CSI2* 1m40

The victory in the CSI2* 1m40 class went to Mariano Martinez Bastida. He rode Hybalia (f. Tygo) to clear through the second phase and finished in 24,43 seconds. Christian Fioravanti and My Boy Z (v. Mylord Carthago) followed on second place. The French rider Jean Francois Rondoux and Ghanati (f. Epleaser van T Heike) completed the podium with a third place.

Sarah Breuer ended on fourth and on fifth place. She saddled Volvo Green de Claix (f. Tinka S) for the fourth place and she took Contento B (f. Comme Il Faut 5) out of his stable to take home the fifth place.

CSI2* 1m35

Abbe Burchmore-Eames won the 1m35 class. She rode Casti Aneira (f. Lupicor) to the finish line in 58,62 seconds, keeping the wood untouched. Aurora Bortolazzi and Casado Z (f. Calvino) took the second place. Samuela Maestri and Colada 6 (f. Colman) followed on third place.

Jack Ansems (Grace Kelly) and Tania Moody (Reine du Very) completed the top five. They ended respectively on fourth and fifth place.
