Big Star, Arko and Ramiro B to Parade at The Equerry Bolesworth International Horse Show
BIG Star, Nick Skelton’s legendary gold medal winning partner at the Rio Olympics is set to appear at The Equerry Bolesworth International Horse Show.

Following the highly emotional and media charged retirement of the crowd-pleasing pair at The Royal Windsor Horse Show, Big Star will form part of the Stallion Parade at the show, together with another of Nick’s former rides, the multi-award winning Arko III.

Ramiro B, the World Number 2 sire of leading event horses, owned by the Harthill Stud will also parade with them in the main arena at 6.30pm on Friday, June 16 before the Equitop Myoplast Puissance at 6.45pm and Elite Auction at 8.45pm.

Big Star, owned by Gary & Beverley Widdowson and Arko III, owned by the Hales family will be paraded under saddle while Ramiro B will be paraded in hand.

Said Show President Nina Barbour: “We are honoured to have Big Star and Arko III paraded at Bolesworth International.

“Together with Ramiro B they are three of the most prolific competition horses and sires in the world and the stallion parade will be a great way to get the evening off to an exciting start.”

Some of the very best bred foals and yearlings, as well as embryos will be for sale as part of the Elite Auction with Big Star the sire of Millfield Big Time, a filly foal out of a Caretino mare, dam of the 1.50m International show jumper Cassato,

Also in the sale is Lot 19, an embryo by Big Star and out of Arka, a full sister of Arko III meaning that both the dam and sire will be represented in the stallion parade prior to the auction.

This year’s Elite Auction has expanded to include foals and a limited number of special embryos, and is being run in partnership with Luk Van Puymbroeck & Gerald Lenearts, organisers of the successful Flanders foal auctions, based in Belgium.

The Equerry Bolesworth International Horse Show takes place from June 14 to 18 in the stunning grounds of Bolesworth Castle near Tattenhall, Chester.
