Home Heroes take the win in Heavy Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup of Aachen

It was an exciting, yet difficult Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup at the CHIO Aachen on Thursday. In this 1.000.000 euro Nations Cup the final riders decided the outcome, in which the home heroes claimed the victory!

In the second round, Great-Britain's John Whitaker was one of the final riders at the start aboard his Unick du Francport (Zandor). With one jumping fault, team Great-Britain ended on a total of eight points. Belgium followed at the start.

Final rider for the Belgium jumping devils was championships rider, Gregory Wathelet and his impressive grey,  Nevados S (Calvados Z). In the final line the combination jumped one rail down, bringing Belgium to a total of 8 points. Meaning Germany had nothing to lose and André Thieme and DSP Chakaria (Chap 47) eventually decided not to start, leaving team Germany on top with 5 points.

Strongest team member for Germany was without a doubt, Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann aboard her 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding, Messi van 't Ruytershof (Plot Blue). The pair was the only to set a double clear within the team. Further the winning team was represented by Christian Kukuk aboard the BWP-sire, Mumbai 3 (Diamant de Semilly) and Jana Wargers with the 13-year-old Limbridge (Limbus).
