Jessica Springsteen wins main class of Mechelen before Belgian talents

The last class of the day has just finished at Jumping Mechelen. The CSI5* 1m50 class had a jump-off, nine riders managed to qualify for it, amongst them five Belgian riders as well.

Pieter Devos was the first Belgian rider to enter the show ring. He rode a fast, clear jump-off with Carpe Diem DV Z (f. Contact vd Heffinck) under the saddle and finished in 36,64 seconds, which seemed to be a very fast time. Thibeau Spits, a young Belgian talent, was the next rider to enter for the jump-off. He immediately went fast as lightening and finished in 35,50 seconds. With this time, he stood in the lead for quite some time, but then one of the fastest riders of Belgium still had to enter: Niel Bruynseels; With the 9-year old gelding Koperic van Orte (f/ Diamant de Semilly) under the saddle, he finished in 34,28 seconds, proofing that it was possible to ride even faster. Jessica Springsteen did what seemed impossible; ride even faster with Volage de Val Henry (f. Quidam de Revel). She finished in 34,18 seconds, taking home the victory. "I really like the extra chocolats I won", Springsteen smiled after.

Bruynsseels ended on second place, Thibeau Spits ended third. Pieter Devos ended on fourth place. Henrik von Eckermann ended fifth with Best Boy 2 (f. Contagio).
