Kent Farrington conquers the Trophée de Genève

The US rider, who won so many times in this arena, wins this jump-off class. Riding Creedance, he bests a young irish rider and some of the best european riders.

How speedy and precise were the paths, how much confidence between these two ! Kent Farrington and Creedance left no chance to their opponents in the Trophée de Genève. After a jump-off ridden in 32.88s, the US rider claimed victory in the first of three qualifiers for the Rolex Grand Prix. The scenario was perfect in this class as a tricky first round left only 13 of 48 competitors access the jump-off. On this shortened track, the riders had to be quick ; Irish rider Michael Pender, youngest of the class at only 20 years old, set a good time of 34.16s together with HHS Burnchurch and under the cheering of Palexpo’s crowd. He would have kept his standing, was it not for Kent Farrington blistering round with Creedance. Together they had already won the Trophée de Genève in 2016 and the Credit Suisse Challenge in 2018. Needless to say this arena brings luck to the american rider – lets just mention his victory in the Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final in 2015 with Voyeur and the one in the Rolex Grand Prix in 2017 with Gazelle. Today, he comes before Michael Pender, Harrie Smolders, Christian Ahlmann and Daniel Deusser. Great sport in this first highlight of CHI Geneva 2019. Next qualifiers for the Rolex Grand Prix will be on Friday : 3 spots in the Top 10 and the five last spots in the Coupe the Genève on Saturday.
