Werth rode a very strong Grand Prixso she definitely put pressure on her competition. It was up to Laura Graves, the number two of the world and the number two on the provisional standings, to ride an amazing Freestyle to take home the victory after all. Graves had to start fourteenth with Verdades (f. Florett As) and did what she had to do: she rode an amazing Freestyle which got scored by 87,179% by the jury. From that moment on she had to wait and could only hope that Werth would make a mistake. The German rider had the seventeenth place on the starting list.
The Danish rider Daniel Bachmann Andersen, who ended on third place yesterday, rode a very beautiful Freestyle as well. He entered the show ring with Blue Hors Zack (f. Rousseau), a horse that has one blind eye because of an accident when he was younger. This blind eye however clearly does not bother him because they got a score of 85,468%.
But then Isabell Werth came. She saddles her topmare Weihegold OLD (f. Blue Hors Don Schurfo) to ride a very difficult freestyle. After finishing, she got a standing ovation by the audience and an overall score f 88,871%. Exit Laura Graves and victory for Werth. Laura Graves once again had to take peace with the second place.
The German Helen Langehanenberg rode a nice Freestyle as well with Damsey FRH (f. Dressage Royale), she got an overal score of 86,571% which resulted in a third place in the overall ranking.
