Updated Statement from FEI Vet at Bromont CCI Three-Day Event Regarding Horse Fatality
In reference to the statement made yesterday by the Bromont CCI Three Day Event we would like to provide an update now that the organization has more information relating to Jaeda. The following statement has been provided by Anne Basket, FEI Veterinary Delegate.

On June 10th at approximately 11:50am local time Jaeda, a 13-year-old mare ridden by Booli Selmayr and owned by Kelly Morgan, died between obstacles 13AB and 14 while competing on cross country in the CCI3* at Bromont, Canada.

The post mortem diagnosis of an acute hernia was made by the Faculté de médecine vétérinaire St-Hyacinthe. An injury of this type could not have been foreseen and is very uncommon in equestrian sport.
