Christian Heineking jumps to victory in Vegas' world cup
The world cup qualifier in Las Vegas was set for a full house at the South Point Hotel. A total of 33 combinations took the start in this 1.60m class. The small arena, long but small, with round corners made it a technical task to complete.

A total of 7 combinations set a clear first round. After a minor hick in the warm-up, Guido Klatte eventually decided not to start his jump-off with the 9-year-old Qinghai (by Quidam de Revel). From the six remaining combinations it was Egypt's Californian, Nayel Nasser and Lordan 5 (by Lordanos) who set the record time. The pair however jumped one rail down, placing sixth.

Eventually Christian Heineking and the 12-year-old AJE Cluny (Cash and Carry x Starlight) took an exciting win finishing in 37.82 seconds. The pair was followed by Enrique Gonzalez and Chacna (by Chacco-Blue), who stopped the time in 37.83 seconds.

Tina Yates and her Dutch-bred Zelote VDL (by Chin Chin) followed in a third place. The top five was completed by Jamie Barge (Luebbo) and Hanna Mauritzson (Parkmore Lux) in a fourth and fifth place.

Earlier Richard Spooner jumped to victory aboard Cristallo (by Caretino) in the 1.45m speed class. The pair was over three seconds faster as Eric Navet with Basimodo (by Quasimodo Z).
