Marcus 'The Master' Ehning wins World Cup of Madrid
In Madrid, a new leg of the World Cup has just ended. 40 combinations entered the show ring for this 'Mutua Madrilena Trophy' with fences built up to 1,60m. For the 40 starting combinations, nine passed to the all-deciding jump-off. In that jump-off everyone rode very fast rounds, but in the end it was Marcus Ehning who took the victory. Together with Comme Il Faut (f. Cornet Obolensky) he jumped a clear jump-off in 43,56 seconds. With this time, he was only a bit faster than the French rider Kevin Staut. Staut stood on the lead for quite some time with his 11-year old KWPN gelding Aran (f. Manhattan), but in the end he had to take peace with the second place. The third place went to Scott Brash. He and his 10-year old Hello M'Lady (f. Indoctro) cleared the jump-off in 44,04 seconds.

Ludger Beerbaum and Casello (f. Casall) ended on fourth place. They left the wood untouched and finished in 47,91 seconds. Denis Lynch completed the top five. With the 13-year old All Star (f. Argentinus) under the saddle, he jumped a clear jump-off in 48,17 seconds.
