Mehdi Benbiga Wins Axon 1.55m at Samorin CSIO3*
At the X-Bionic Equestor Sphere in Sâmorín, Slovakia, Morocco’s Mehdi Benbiga beat out a field of 17 international rider to secure the win in the Axon 1.55m on Saturday, August 2, 2017.

In the feature class of the day, Benbiga piloted the 9-year-old Selle Francais gelding Ugolino Du Clos (L’Arc De Triomphe x Roi Des Elfes) to a winning time of 77.45s.

“Its a really good feeling and satisfaction, especially after the results from Nations Cup,” said Benbiga. “This is an exepctional facility. It doesn’t just offer the best posibble services for horses —  big space for warm up, variety of the arenas, horse medical care — but also for the riders!

On Friday, Benbiga represented his country in the FEI Nations Cup CSIO3*, where Team Brazil topped the podium in the standings. The Moroccan rider, who trains with France’s Marcel Delestre, now looks forward participating in the “Mediterranean Games and World Equestrian Games”

For 2nd place, Hungary’s Mariann Hugyecz and Tango d’Ecry finished on a time of 77.50, and Germany’s Alexander Potthoff and Quinara finished in 3rd with a time of 78.03s.
