Olympics claim another disqualified 'victim' for overly using spurs

Stewards at the Olympics games in Rio are right on top of the welfare of the horses competing in the showjumping competition. Last Sunday it were Jur Vrieling and Nicola Phillipearts who got a reprimanded for their behavior on the horse. Today it was  Cassio Rivetti that got disqualified

The rider from Ukraine already had a bad start Sunday  when he got dismounted from his horse  Fine Fleur Du Marais, ending the individual tournament for the rider. Today he was allowed to ride for the team and as first rider put in a good round with just one pole down.

But not short after the ground stewards had found that Rivetti had used his spurs on his mount too much. If traces of blood were found it not know till now, but what is clear is that Rivetti officially is disqualified for it.
