Robert Breul best in Sunshine Tour Grand Prix
The Marseillaise played at the Sunshine Tour today as France’s Robert Breul won the CSI3* Grand Prix. The 1.55m competition counted towards the FEI Longines Ranking, and saw only four riders going clear over the first round track set by Uliano Vezzani. It was the time allowed that really caused problems, as six more riders were clear on the fences while not getting over the finish line on the right side of the clock.

As last to go in the jump-off, Breul snatched the win aboard his 10-year-old gelding Arsouille Du Seigneur (Schilling x Chellano Z). “I am really satisfied with both rounds, this is a great victory for us which proves that I am on the right road with the training of this wonderful horse,” said the winner after.

British rider Tim Stockdale and the 11-year-old mare Fleur De L’Aube (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Alcatraz) took care of second place, and his compatriot Yazmin Pinchen with Van de Vivaldi (Vivaldi van de Kempel x Golden Joy) finished third. Canadian rider Rebecca McGoldrick was fourth, unfortunately having a rail down after producing the fastest time in the jump-off.
