Speed devil Ignace Philips in first place in Madrid's GCT
It's Belgian rider Ignace Philips who became a bit of a speed devil during today's 1m40 in the 1 star competition. In the saddle of his nine year old mare Dream di San Patrignano (by Indoctro) the pair finished with a brilliant time of 66.66 seconds, remaining well in the lead during this Longines Global Champions Tour in Madrid.

It was Spanish rider Paloma Jimenez-Carmona Gonzalez and her mare Sherie Star (by Diamant de Semilly) who came closest to that time with 69.50 seconds, putting her in second place. It was then Dutch rider Eric van der Vleuten who came in third place with his Quasimodo Z daughter Quivive S Z in 69.64 seconds.

The top five was completed by Alberto Marquez Galobardes who finished in fourth place for Spain with his Dutch Warmblood Croupier V (by Kannan) in 69.69 seconds. While Chilean rider Uri Rosenzweig and his Upper (by Diamant de Semilly) finished in fifth place with 70.83 seconds on the clock.
