The YRA program enters its ninth year of activity, despite the difficulties generated by this pandemic, and always in compliance with anti-contagion policies, the sports team is ready to start in 2022 with the new selection that will take place next February (6th to 8th) in Peelbergen.
"For this edition we have received twenty-nine entries from seventeen countries, again it will be, for the 2022 panel - Emile Hendrix, Otto Becker, Jean-Maurice Bonneau and Sven Holmberg - another arduous task. Throughout the years, thanks also to NFs support, 215 talented candidates participated in the selections and 64 have been part of the program.
The purpose of YRA is and remains to assist in training show jumping young talents and preparing their career as future professionals in this sport. Once again, the project will give the chance to five to six promising riders to live several months of training and boarding at an established and experienced professional stable. The program also provides professional education on topics as: Veterinary, Business & Economics, Sponsoring & Communication, Athlete’s Well-being, and Legal Aspects. For this edition, the educational program will offer a deeper insight into the digital world, where sports and athletes are becoming more and more active with their fans", states team of YRA.
“We are about to start our YRA 8th edition, and we are very thrilled for the next team of young riders coming in. We all share the same values, rights, and duties, but duties in this world, again, are very important to mention as a priority. This is our aim and our spirit, and I say ‘we’ because Young Riders Academy is plural, it’s a group of passionate people who share the same values of the sport”, says Jean Maurice Bonneau.
The young Riders Academy is a program conceived for European talented young show jumpers with the cooperation of the International Jumping Riders Club (IJRC) and the support of Rolex since its first edition. Founded in 2014 by Athenaeum, a non-profit association, the program will give talented riders between the ages of 18 and 23 the chance to live and train for several months at an international professional stable. On top of it, professional education in communication, business and economics, veterinary and legal practice related to show jumping. The goal is to grow future champions as well as potential managers of this sport.
