The spectators of the Royal Windsor Horse Show were treated to absolute top sport during the prestigious 5* LR Rolex Grand Prix. The participants were presented with a very challenging first course over a height of 1m60. Only three combinations were able to clear the first round, so we had a nail-biting jump-off. In the end the Belgian top rider Grégory Wathelet was without a doubt the very best in this GP!
Grégory Wathelet had saddled his top Olympic horse Nevados S (by Calvados Z). He was the first to qualify for the jump-off, and so he also had to go first in it. The Belgian top rider kept his head cool and together with Nevados S he did what he does best: completing the jump-off in a fast and clear way. They finished in a time of 34.79 seconds and that time proved to be unbeatable by the other two jump-off candidates. Wathelet was also the only one to keep the time under 35 seconds and so he was crowned the rightful winner of this extremely difficult 5* Rolex GP.
Max Kühner also had a clear round in the jump-off with his Eldorado vd Zeshoek son Electric Blue P. However, they were a bit slower and in 36.09 seconds they had to settle for the second place. Daniel Bluman and Ladriano Z (by Lawito) took third place. His time would have been good enough for the second place, but a fault relegated them to the bronze medal.
In fourth place we saw Henrik Von Eckermann with his world-famous King Edward (by Edward 28), they got four penalty points in the first round. Harry Charles completed the top five with Stardust (by Chacco-Blue), they also got four points in the first round.
