Sapphire (by Darco) from McLain Ward will be inducted into the American Hall of Fame. The ceremony takes place annually at the Devon Horse Show in America. The Hall Of Fame is an honour that is awarded annually to various riders and horses who have distinguished themselves or have distinguished themselves by their exceptional contribution to the sport of show jumping.
So too the legendary Darco-daughter Sapphire of McLain Ward. The BWP mare was born in 1995 and for years was a big star on the international circuit. She jumped twice to the gold Olympic team medal with the American team and finished fifth individually in 2008. At the 2006 World Championships in Aachen, she was part of the US team that won the silver medal.
She retired from the sport in 2012 at the age of 17. She passed away in 2014 when she was 19.
Margie Goldstein Engle will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame. She is one of the most successful horsewomen in American history. She competed in the 2000 Sydney Olympics, won silver with the team at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen and has several individual medals on her record. She rode a total of 17 World Cup finals and won more than 200 Grand Prix.
Meanwhile in Engel 63 but still jumping at the highest level. In the beginning of March she finished fourth with Dicas (by Diarado) in the CSI4* Grand Prix of Wellington.
