Young Alexa Stais beats competition in GRAND PRIX of MET Oliva

The penultimate class under the Spanish sun was also the main class of the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour in Oliva. In this Grand Prix ranking class, 23yo showjumper Alexa Stais outbeated the competition.

Nicola Philippaerts was the last rider to start his jump-off and knew what he had to do. The time to beat was set at 42,86 and was ridden by Alexa Stais. With the ten years old mare H&M Luna Van'T Ruytershof Z (v. Levisto Z), Philippaerts was able to ride 29 hundredths of of her time but one fault kept them from winning, leaving them in sixth place.

Alexa Stais stayed on top of the ranking and was able to take the victory home together with Urhelia Lutterbach (v. Helios de La Cour II). With 44,23 seconds on the clock, Michael Hughes followed with the silver medal on the back of Melodie-K van 't Kattenheye (v. Cornet Obolenski). Jason Foley took bronze in the saddle of Rockwell RC (v. Kannan).

Just outside of the top three was Jack Ansems on four with Fliere Fluiter (v. VDL Zirocco Blue) followed by Regis Villain and Berline Cece (v. Ustinov).
