BWP Ambassadors and Equitime Award
Also the new BWP-ambassadors have been named, and also there, no surprises. Malito de Rêves (by Cumano) was the first one to be titled ambassador. The 17-year-old stallion returned to Joris De Brabander's breeding station in 2014. His son, Grand Cru van de Rozenberg (by Heartbreaker) also received the national Equitime Award for its enormous jump forward by competing at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Harrie Smolders' was the only ambassador to be titled based on his own results. The Diamant de Semilly-son is still active on the highest level.
Tolano vh Riethof (Chin Chin x Goldspring de Lauzelle) was the third ambassador, based on the results of his offsprings. Tolano is the father of Voyeur, Zephyr II, Taran de la Pomme, etc.
Also Bentley vd Heffinck (Upsilon van de Heffinck x Heartbreaker) was titled based on the results of his offsprings. The stallion jumped on an international level under the saddle of Harrie Smolders, Wilm Vermeir, Frederic Vernaet, etc.
Apple Juice was the last stallion to receive the ambassador title. The son out-of Jockey Club Tresor and Duel (by Fier de Lui Z) is the father of amongst others HH Zipper and Ivan R, both active on a 1.50/1.60m level.
Best Breeders
Many of the Olympic horses at the start originated in Belgium. Their Breeders received a gold plate titled "Olympic Stable". Amongst others Bert Van den Branden (Emerald), Fam. Verkinderen (Grand Cru van de Rozenberg), Pieere Floru (First Class van Eeckelgem).
