A strict measure for the German endurance rider is the result, following the news of several dead horses and cases with forbidden substances in the United Arab Emirates. The German Olympic committee decided that German riders can no longer compete in endurance competitions in Dubai.
When a German rider decides to compete in Dubai, he or she will be no longer be aible to compete in national German Championchips. The committee has also asked his organizers to not invite endurance riders from the Emirates.
However the rule does not apply to riders from Abu Dhabi, or riders who want to compete in Abu Dhabi. The committee stated that the organisation in Abu Dhabi is trying to follow the rules imposed by the FEI. Therefore they are the exception on this statement.
