Giovanni van het Scheefkasteel from now on under the saddle of Jérôme Guéry

After a good year with Switzerland's Pius Schiwzer, Giovanni van het Scheefkasteel (Darco x Perhaps vd Berkenbroeck) will be joining the stables of Belgium's Jérôme Guéry. With Pius Schwizer in the saddle, the stallion got a second place in the Nations Cup of Hickstead and a fourth place of that one of Falsterbo. Guéry will be riding the stallion from now on and will be debuting him in Madrid this weekend. "Lieven Devos contacted me with the question if I wanted to ride Giovanni. I knew the horse and his history. He has another model than the horses I'm riding right now, but I'm confident that he has a lot of potential. He arrived at my stables two weeks ago and we already started training. I'm very happy with the way he is jumping right now but I know I have to be realistic because one of the top riders (Pius Schwizer) of the world was riding him before me. I think he will do great during the outdoor season, since big show rings are more his thing. I'll use this winter to become a team with him and during the outdoor season I'll probably will be really needing him. I have a lot of good horses right now, but I've been climbing on the World Ranking since two years now... That's great but it chanced my way of working. I always wanted to school my young horses myself, but that became very difficult since I'm at a 5-star show almost every weekend. I'm also really looking forward to the Sunshine Tour, where all my youngsters will get the opportunity to gain a lot of experience", Guéry adds.
