Harrie Smolders' Emerald retires from the sport

Harrie Smolders' Olympic stallion, Emerald has retired from the sport. The Belgian Warmblood stallion will continue his career in the breeding sport. Tonight the 15-year-old son of Diamant de Semilly said goodbye to his sportive career. The international CHIw in Geneva was the last competition of Smolders and Emerald. The breeding product of Bert Van den Branden started his international career with a second place at the FEI World Championships for 6-year-old horses. Emerald won his first Grand Prix as a nine-year-old in Vilamoura. Later the pair would represent the Dutch colours in many Nations Cup events, Olympic Games, World Cup competitions, etc.
