Ludger Beerbaum takes Chiara instead of Casello to Omaha
Ludger Beerbaum will not take his Olympic ride Casello to the World Cup final in Omaha. Instead the rider will bring his peppy mare Chiara (by Contender). The reason for doing so is the fact that his Cassal ASK-son is not fit to compete and he wants to take no risks.

Beerbaum and the gray mare are in good shape. Last weekend in Paris they finished fourth in the heavily fought, and criticised, Grand Prix at Saut Hermès. The pair were also called upon for the German squad during the 2015 European championships in Aachen. In which they finished second with the team behind the Dutch.

But solo the pair have also had a crack at some amazing wins. Amongst them are victories in the Grand Prix Doha 2016, Mannheim 2015, Doha 2014 and Basel 2014.

Eventhough Beerbaum only won the World Cup final on one occasion in 1993, the rider will already compete at it for his 21st time.  Along with him his teammates Marcus Ehning on Pret a Tout (v. Hiram Chambertin), Guido Klatte jr. with Qinghai (v. Quidam de Revel), Markus Brinkmann riding Dylon and the USA based Christian Heinrich on Caruso will join him at the final.
