Michael Jung better than showjumpers!

Show jumping or Eventing? No matter the discipline, Michael Jung seizes all the victories. With his 11 years old gelding, fisherDaily Impressed, the German Eventing champion took the advantage over thirty-nine of the best show jumping riders in this opening class of the Jumping International de Bordeaux, the Prix Congrès et Expositions de Bordeaux. Jung is quick to minimise his win, equally humble and talented: “fisherDaily was really wonderful to ride today. He’s a great horse and very fast. I really enjoy the round but I also know it was the easiest class to win of this weekend. However, it’s a great start for the rest of the competition.” An easier class indeed, but Jung is still leading the best showjumpers, in a discipline that is not his main one. “It’s true and I find it is quite funny.” We will see the German tonight in his main area (hopefully for a second win in the Devoucoux Indoor Derby). He will however not enter the World Cup Grand Prix on Saturday night, a challenge he shouldn’t be afraid of, considering the champion he is. "I already ran those classes in Stuttgart, Basel and Leipzig, without taking any point yet. But maybe I will run the circuit next year?" (laughs). Following him, Belgium’s Jérôme Guery, riding Kel’Star du Vingt Ponts, and France’s Félicie Bertrand with Chacco Rouge start this 2019 edition of the Jumping International de Bordeaux in the best way possible.
