Paolo Paini takes first victory in CSIO5* Al Ain

In Al Ain the first day of the CSIO5* competition started. The first CSIO5* class was ridden on the hight of 1.45m and won by the Italian Paolo Paini. He rode the KWPN-mare Clodia CSG (by Quidam de Revel) and went through te finish in 57.03 seconds. Last year the combination won the CSIO5* class in Rome and also won in November in Vermezzo.

Abdelkebir Ouaddar came into the seconds place with his zangersheide-stallion Cardano Sitte Z (by Carthago Z) and stopped the time in 58.21 seconds. Felix Hassmann was e few hundredth of seconds slower in 58.68 seconds. He had under the saddle SL Brazonado (by SL Baluarte).

Further came Ahmad Saber Hamcho with Quintus 81 (by Quick Star) in 59.14 seconds and Ibrahim Hani Bisharat with Brown Sugar (by Chacco-Blue) in 61.12 seconds into the top five.

Before that there were also CSI2* classes ridden, the class on the hight of 1.40m was won by David Will. He went arount the jump-off really fast in 30.23 seconds with his horse Cassando (by Casall Ask). The second place was for Salmen Sultan Al Suwaidi with Cantaro 32 (by Carrado I) who stopped the clock in 32.22 seconds.

Salim Ahmad Al Suwaidi took the third place with Connay Z (by Cade Z) in 32.39 seconds. The fourth place was for Kamal Abdullah Bahamdan with Sansibar 89 seconds (by Stakkato Gold) who went through the finish in 34.97 seconds. He was followed by Frederic David with Baloussini (by Baloubet du Rouet) under the saddle and went clear around the jump-off in 35.41 seconds.

The CSI2* class on 1.30m was won by the BWP-stallion Heavenly-Star (by Cyber van Berkenbroeck). He was ridden by Ahmed Mansoor and stopped the chrono in 53.44 seconds with his horse Saga de la Roque (by Capital). Hadi Nizam completed the top three with Wi-Janda (by Gentleman) in 57.03 seconds.
