Unbeatable Goffinet takes Grand Prix of Vilamoura in spectacular way
In the Portuguese Vilamoura, a busy international weekend has just know its ending with the 1,50m Grand Prix. 47 combinations entered the show ring, 12 of them kept the zero on the score board after the first round. A jump-off with 12 combinations therefore had to decide about today's winner.

In that jump-off it was the Belgian rider Thierry Goffinet who showed why he is one of the fastest riders of Belgium. With the 11-year old Artuur (f. Andiamo), he jumped a clear jump-off in 38,87 seconds. With this time he was the unbeatable winner: he was three seconds faster than the French Reynald Angot who ended on second place with Symphonie des Biches (f. Kannan). This mare didn't touch the wood and finished in 41,76 seconds. Marc Bettinger, who already won a class earlier today, ended on third place. He saddled the 9-year old mare Quicy W (f. Quinnus II) to jump to the finish line in 42,60 seconds. Unfortunately they got one penalty for jumping which resulted in a third place.

The rest of the top five colored all French. Adrien Rouchon and Scala des Champ (f. Ideal de la Loge) ended on fourth place. Patrice Astier and Gigolo vd Moelndreef (f. Clearway) followed on fifth place.
