Funke is just like Epleaser van 't Heike - an other top horse that is ridden by Ahlmann - from the breeder Karel Boonen.
The 12-years-old mare was produced by Belgium's Jan Van Dijck. In 2012 Funke was sold to Italy. Together with Giulia Martinengo Marquet she collected many international successes until 2016.
After Martingengo Marquet it was Darragh Kenny who took over the reins. The pair jumped up tot the heighest level collecting about six international victories in six months time. Their last performance was at the world cup leg in London, UK.
