The first faultless round came from Jenny Rankin. The Irish rider had the KWPN gelding Ibiza (Inshallah de Muze) under the saddle and set the time to beat at 48.95 seconds. Odile Gierech, competing in front of her home crowd, was the next to enter the arena. Riding Hurricane DB, an sBs gelding by Elvis ter Putte, the Luxembourger improved the time to 41.39 seconds. Katja Haep, on the back of the 9-year-old Romy FZ (Baltic VDL), also delivered a faultless ride with a time of 46.10 seconds.

Third to last to start was Max Wachman. The Irishman clearly had Gierech's time in his sights and guided Quintini (Quintender) across the finish line in 40.37 seconds, taking the lead. But they were barely out of the arena before the leading position changed again. American Ansgar Holtgers Jr piloted the 15-year-old stallion Tulum to the finish in 39.95 seconds and claimed victory.
