Beatriz Ferrer-Salat hospitalised after bad fall

Beatriz Ferrer-Salat is a Spanish Olympic dressage rider. She won at the 2002 WEG in Jerez de la Frontera (Spain) silver and bronze at the Olympic Games in Athens, 2004.

Last couple of days, storm Gloria had the upper hand in Spain. After not being able to go out with the horses four days in a row, the weather changed. Ferrer-Salat decided to tack out with a couple of horses in the woods. Ferrer-Salat herself was aboard one of her younger horses.

At the beginning of the ride, it seems the horse spooked at something it was afraid of. Ferrer-Salat fell and, after x-rays in the hospital of Sant Celoni, she broke her pubic bone and her coccyx.

She has been transferred to the hospital of Sant Pau and will probably need surgery.
