"To be one hundredth of a second faster, it's really a stroke of luck. Anyone who has been in this sport long enough knows that sometimes you can win by a fraction and sometimes you can lose by a fraction," Farrington said after the event. He brought three horses to Karpendonkse Plas but is saving his mare Katrien for the Grand Prix. "Myla won't compete in the Grand Prix; I wanted to prepare my horses for upcoming competitions on grass surfaces, such as the Global Champions Tour in Madrid. So, I thought it was a good move to get them ready here for the summer."

With a hair's difference, Pim Mulder and the Zangersheide gelding Viktor Z settled for second place. Mulder commented, "I would have preferred to be first, but I was very close, and the horse performed well. I could have taken one less stride to the last obstacle, so maybe I didn't give it my all, but I'm very satisfied with how my horse jumped."

The podium was completed by Brazilian Luciana Lossio with the mare Lady Louise Jmen. Standing alongside the podium were Khaled Almobty and Spacecake from Saudi Arabia, Dutchman Marc Houtzager with Sterrehof’s Calimero, and Maikel van der Vleuten with Beauville Z N.O.P., completing the top.
