Max Kühner becomes the new rider for Gerrit Nieberg's Blues D'Aveline

In 2023, Gerrit Nieberg and Blues D'Aveline secured victory in the Grand Prix of Leipzig, were part of the national team in Sopot and Hickstead, and achieved international rankings. Now, another takes the reins of the grey horse.


Not only has Aachen winner Ben left Gerrit Nieberg's stable, but now Blues D'Aveline CH has also departed. The eleven-year-old grey gelding, previously in the care of Swiss rider Josef Kunz, will now be seen under the guidance of Austrian rider Max Kühner in the show jumping arena. Max Kühner currently holds the eighth position in the world show jumping rankings.

Gerrit Nieberg and Blues D'Aveline, a descendant of Baloussini-Coriall, achieved remarkable success just last year. They secured victory in the Grand Prix of Leipzig in 2023 and earned placements in La Coruna, Sopot, Hickstead, Paris, and Basel in international competitions. Now, their partnership comes to an end after approximately three years together.
